Global renewable energy consulting firm PMSS announced that Sebastian Chivers, a group Director and long-term employee of the company has been named as the new Senior Vice President for its North America business unit – PMSS America, Inc. (“PMSSA”).

Sebastian has worked for the past 9 years on a wide variety of renewable energy projects in Europe, Asia and the USA, and for the past 6 years has worked exclusively in the offshore wind sector through development, construction and O&M phases of some 20+ separate projects.

Sebastian will lead PMSS operations in the USA from the company’s headquarters in New York City, where he is building a team of talented and experienced engineers and consultants, focussed exclusively on providing a first-class service to wind, wave, tidal and solar energy projects, and with a particular spotlight on the developing US offshore wind sector.

Robert Waddington, a founder and Group Managing Director at PMSS said:

“Having worked with Sebastian for the last 9 years, both at project and corporate level, I am very pleased that he will be leading our US operations and building a team of local expertise to service the increased demand for our services. Experience shows that we must have local offices with local experts, supported by our global network in order to provide the best possible service for our clients, and that is exactly what we are doing in the US.”

Commenting on the new appointment, Mr Chivers said:

“I am pleased to have been selected to lead PMSS’ efforts in the USA, and I very much look forward to the exciting challenges ahead.” Mr Chivers continued to say: “Our consultants know the wind business inside and out, and our track record of over 30GW of offshore project experience and 1000+ onshore, combined with local experts at the top of their field, I am convinced can greatly benefit the US market and add real value to our clients.”

PMSS will be exhibiting at the forthcoming Windpower 2011 conference in Anaheim, CA (22nd – 25th May), where clients will be able to meet the new PMSS America team.
