Forewind, development partner for the world’s largest offshore wind farm, will today kick off five days community consultations for proposed Dogger Bank Creyke Beck.

Developers plan to connect Dogger Bank Creyke Beck into the national grid at an existing substation at Creyke Beck, near Cottingham in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Community consultations will be held in Barmston, Bridlington, Brandesburton, Cottingham and Beverley.

These events will be located along or near the proposed onshore cable route.

Dogger Bank Creyke Beck will comprise some hundreds of turbines. The full range of feasible foundation types – including monopiles, multipiles, suction, and gravity base options – are under consideration. The project will also comprise a number of offshore substations, a network of interarray cables, and one or two met masts.

The Forewind consortium was formed by the four owners SSE, RWE, Statkraft and Statoil in November 2008 in response to The Crown Estate’s third licence round for UK offshore wind farms (Round 3).
