The world’s leading supplier of Service Lifts, Ladder Systems and other Safety Equipment for wind turbines, Avanti Wind Systems now offers even more sub supplies for the world’s wind turbine industry.

Avanti Wind System establishes new factories in USA and China in order to produce Internals for wind turbines. You can say that Internals are all internal mechanical and electrical parts in the wind turbine tower – from the big platforms to brackets and other smaller parts in aluminum or galvanized steel as well as electric cables, lighting and other electrics.

“Safety has always been a top priority for Avanti and we already supply Service Lifts – Elevators – and Ladder Systems with Fall Protection that we produce ourselves. We want to be a full-line supplier of Internals for wind turbine towers. Having established 2 new factories we can offer the wind turbine manufacturers one-stop-shopping for a complete kit set containing everything – produced in our own factories. Our customers will only have one sub supplier and with offices, service centers and factories in 10 countries, we are a global player, yet, we are always close to our customers offering quick service” , says Erik Laursen, CEO in Avanti Wind Systems.

Although, Internals is a rather new area for Avanti, Avanti in the US has already delivered all parts for more than 100 wind turbine towers in the US. All deliveries were based on sub suppliers. Avanti pre-mounted and marked all parts making it easy for the tower factory to mount in the towers themselves.

“However, we were dependent on a number of sub suppliers both as regards quality and delivery time. And we know by experience that we are able to produce most of it in our own factories and require the rest from sub suppliers. We make it easy for our customers by ensuring them a complete high quality kit set at a compatible price and with delivery at agreed time all over the world” , says Soren Midtgaard, who is Director for Business Development in Avanti.

The new factory in China is an 8000 m2 building in the port city Tianjin south of Beijing. Right now machines, welding equipment and so on are being installed. The first set of Internals from the new factory is planned to be delivered already in December 2011. The factory will have between 20 and 25 employees and is expected to be at full production rate by February 2012.

We open the new factory in USA in April 2012 in a 4000 m2 industrial building located at Avanti’s current American headquarters in New Berlin, Wisconsin. The factory will have between 20 and 25 employees and is expected to be at full production rate by June 2012.
