As a result of the successful offer for all shares, the Hansen Transmissions International NV has become a wholly owned subsidiary of ZF Friedrichshafen AG. As from 9 December 2011, the company name of “Hansen Transmissions International” has been changed to “ZF Wind Power Antwerpen”.

Following the integration of the existing wind gearbox operations of ZF, in the US and Germany, with the operations of Hansen, in Belgium, India and China, into a new business unit Wind Power Technology of ZF, they can now offer a global footprint. ZF Wind Power has production plants and R&D teams in Belgium, Germany, India, China and the US, manufacturing capabilities of approximately 10,000 MW and a product range from 1.5 up to 6.15MW. The headquarters of the Wind Power Technology business unit of ZF is in Kontich (Antwerp), Belgium.

Furthermore the new Business Unit Wind Power Technology will benefit of the long trm experience and technical expertise of both the ZF group and Hansen Transmissions in regard to future technological innovations and drive train concepts. This business unit will be part of the division Industrial Technology.

The new name and logo will not affect day-to-day operational relation with the contacts or the management of their organisation. However, the name changes modify the company’s details in relation to any agreement(s), contract(s), commercial or other relationship they have or may have with your other organizations.

ZF was founded in 1915. It is among the top 10 companies on the ranking list of the largest automotive suppliers worldwide, with a sales figure of approximately EUR 15 billion in 2011.

ZF Group’s product range comprises transmissions and steering systems, as well as chassis components and complete axle systems and modules. New products are determining the ZF Group’s success. Every year, the ZF Group invests approximately 5 percent of its total sales in R&D. ZF’s shareholders are the Zeppelin Foundation, administered by the City of Friedrichshafen, holding 93.8 percent of company shares, and the Dr.-Jürgen-Ulderup Foundation, Lemförde, with 6.2 percent.

Hansen Transmissions International NV, now named ZF Wind Power Antwerpen NV, was established in 1923 and has manufacturing plants in Belgium, India and China. They have built a reputation as a developer and manufacturer of innovative, high quality, reliable, high-performance gearbox solutions, first for a wide range of industrial applications and since the late 70’s more especially for wind turbine installation.
