Dudgeon offshore windfarm worth GBP 1.5bn hopes to clear another obstacle.

North Norfolk District Council’s decision on cable route has been delayed as planners waited final wording on the planned substation at Little Dunham, reports EDP24.

The onshore cable route runs over 45km in the south westerly direction to the proposed substation site located south of Little Dunham in the Breckland District of Norfolk.

It is stated in a recently published report by the Development Committee that cables will have a minimum impact.

In October last year, Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited (DOW), a subsidiary of Warwick Energy Limited, appealed to the High Court against the decision to refuse its planning appeal for a substation at Little Dunham, Norfolk.

Warwick Energy is planing to build a 42 acres substation to serve its proposed Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm, which would bring up to 168 turbines to a spot 20 miles north of the Cromer coast.

Executive director of Warwick Energy hopes to generate first electricity from this wind farm in 2015.
