Public consultation on the proposed Hull wind turbine factory started today, BBC reports.
Future factory could provide around 700 working places. The Green Port Hull facility will be sited in the Alexandra Dock area of the city, with Siemens investing £80m and ABP £130m in the port infrastructure. German engineering conglomerate Siemens has selected the Associated British Port’s (ABP) last year in January, to cooperate on this project.
The public exhibition will be held at six locations as follows:
Wednesday 11th January
4pm until 7pm at Victoria Dock Village Hall car park.
Thursday 12th January
9am until 11.30am at Wentworth Way (on the road), New Bridge Road.
12noon until 1.30pm at the lay-by near Embassy Hotel, Hedon Road.
2pm until 3.30pm at the Marfleet Avenue lay-by near the old Fenner site, opposite Ceylon Street.
4pm until 6pm at Rosmead Street, near St. Johns church.
Friday 13th January
10am until 4pm at Queen Victoria Square, Hull city centre.
Dan McGrail, the project manager at Siemen s, said: “Submission of the planning application for Green Port Hull marks a significant step for the project and is the product of months of detailed work and consultation by teams in ABP and Siemens.
“ We now look forward to discussing our proposals with the wider public at these important consultation events .”
