The Offshore Wind farm proposed off the Atlantic coast has failed to justify economic benefits for the second time this month. This was confirmed by the state’s consultant, reports Njspotlight.

Back in May 2011, Cape May-based Fisherman’s Energy gained New Jersey approval for a demonstration project to build six wind turbines, 2.5 miles (4.0 km) off the coast at Atlantic City. That could be a big hurdle for Fishermen’s Atlantic Wind Farm which is planned to provide pollution-free electricity along New Jersey coast. The Christie administration said it wants New Jersey to be eastern seaboard center of the offshore wind industry. That would provide thousands of new jobs. Eleven developers have already expressed interest in creating wind farms off NJ coast. Despite consultant’s negative report, Fishermen’s Energy executives were not discouraged, and they work even harder to demonstrate the benefits of project.
