Andy Paine, the new program director for Vattenfall, has been cordially welcomed at the East Anglia Offshore Wind joint venture, reports reNews Europe.

Upon assuming this new position, he will act as a spokesperson for the development to building stronger relationships with key stakeholders and he will also be in charge of ensuring projects are on track and delivering to agreed objectives.

Paine has worked for over 15 years in the energy sector, in a variety positions. He started his career at Rolls Royce working on helicopter engines and joined RES in 2002. His experience includes a proven track record in onshore wind development as he has worked with the Electricity Supply Board (ESB), a major Irish utility company, for the last four years.

“What really attracted me to this role was the opportunity to work on such a challenging offshore project,” Paine said. “I am eager to play my part with the development of EAOW and help build on Vattenfall’s successes so far,” he added.

East Anglia Offshore Windfarm Limited is a joint venture between Vattenfall and ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) created for the development of Zone 5 of the Crown Estate’s Round Three Process.

The Zone is located 14 km off the coast of Norfolk and Suffolk and covers approximately 6000 km2.
