BIS is seeking up to three new Board Directors for Wave Hub Limited, including a Chair. Applications are particularly sought from those with demonstrable understanding of offshore renewables and/or discernible financial / corporate experience.

Wave Hub is the world’s largest site for the testing and development of wave energy arrays, offering a grid connected consented area of sea 16 kilometres off the north Cornwall coast. Its primary purpose is to drive research and innovation to address the challenges of deploying wave energy technology at large-scale so that the industry can overcome the final hurdles to full commercialisation. It is a nationally important asset, assisting Government to secure the UK’s position as a global leader in marine energy.

The Wave Hub infrastructure is owned by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) and the management, operation and maintenance of Wave Hub is the responsibility of Wave Hub Limited, a public company with the sole shareholder being BIS.

The minimum level of commitment required will be attendance at bi-monthly Board meetings. Appointments are for three years from June 2012 and all reasonable expenses (including travel, subsistence and other expenses) will be reimbursed.
