The Partrac Group organised and sponsored a RenewableUK Wave & Tidal 2012 pre-conference workshop on 14th March 2012 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

The workshop, entitled, “Unique Challenges of Site Characterisation in Wave & Tidal Projects” brought together professionals in the wave and tidal sectors to share their unique experiences of characterising potential wave and tidal energy sites.

Over seventy delegates attended on the day, comprising a broad cross section of the sector including wave and tidal energy developers, device manufacturers, engineering and environmental consultants, regulators and academics. The workshop provided the opportunity to hear from a selection of experts who are either directly involved in the site selection process and / or in the acquisition of environmental data in complex marine environments. The presentations were followed by a lively and fruitful Q&A and panel discussion session. The workshop was chaired by David Ainsworth, Business Development Manager of Marine Current Turbines (MCT).
