The port services provider, Rhenus Midgard, signed an outline agreement for logistics services with JADE Werke GmbH based in Wilhelmshaven on the second day of this year’s HANOVER FAIR.

The logistics services company will in future support the firm, which was set up at the beginning of 2012, with its expertise; this will particularly be connected to the production of heavy steel foundations or base structures for offshore wind turbines.

Rhenus Midgard will provide extensive logistics services for JADE Werke GmbH and make available its specialist personnel and paved areas at the north port in Wilhelmshaven to meet the requirements formulated by the customer. “We’re delighted that we’ve notched up another success story in positioning our base for the offshore business as a result of today’s signing of the outline agreement with JADE Werke GmbH,” Matthias Schrell, Managing Director of Rhenus Midgard in Wilhelmshaven, emphasises. “This represents an important step in expanding our logistics services for the wind energy sector. It’s now important to highlight the strengths of the Wilhelmshaven business centre to other companies operating within this sector based on the investments planned for the next few years. We’ll emphasise the geographical and nautical advantages of the north port – for example, it has the second-largest lock in the world – in an in-depth services catalogue as we continue to strengthen the infrastructure and superstructure.”
