Optimism prevails in the offshore wind industry in the UK when it comes to new vacancies in the long term, especially taking into account the demand for new work force in renewables markets on global level, writes Recruiter.

Based on the reports of the Renewable Energy Association, RenewableUK and Scottish Renewables, the surging demand for pollution free energy indicates substantial potential for creation of new job opportunities in the industry.

There is a positive trend in regard to the number of vacancies in the UK and European offshore wind, as confirmed by the RenewableUK, which follows the development of offshore wind sector.

However, aside to the forecasts, the public support and more importantly that from the UK government seems to be lagging behind, particularly with respect to subsidies for the industry, having in mind that only in February this year Conservative MPs asked for dramatic cuts.

Commenting on the Government’s attitude James Pipe, head of renewables at recruiter Spencer Ogden, pointed out that the politicians “are dragging their feet and this is a clear frustration for the industry… [it] doesn’t provide confidence for investors in the industry.”

With an aim of reducing carbon emissions in half by 2020, Britain is pushing ahead with fast development of wind industry on its coastlines and it has attracted talented work force, including that from abroad, to aid to the UK’s wind industry development on international scale.
