Installation of the 20,000MW of offshore wind turbines in the UK as a part of the announced green energy revolution sweeping its way through the country will push its way ahead through the South Tyneside as well, the core of the North East’s incipient low-carbon economy, nebusiness informed.

The strong engineering potential of South Tyneside has been recognized by very competitive market players such as A&P Group, HVR International, IHC Engineering, marine and offshore anode manufacturer MCPS Ltd and Siemens to name a just a few among 135 businesses, providing employment to over 5,000 people in the field of cutting-edge engineering.
There are numerous advantages of the area including that of the location of the River Tyne’s, which is in the vicinity of three Round 3 offshore wind farm zones, followed by ambitious regeneration plans, including a multi-million project to transform South Shields Riverside .
“We have a strong track record of excellence in research and development, which is an important advantage for inward investors,” Coun Malcolm pointed out.
The geographical position of the area is characterized by well infrastructural interconnection, including that of the A19 corridor – a key economic artery of the region and the Port of Tyne. The port embodies a major northern gateway to the UK, and a major player in the North East economy ensuring manufacturers and transporters an excellent strategic access to both inland and water ways.
