Colpitts World Travel announces its newly formed Renewable Energy travel support team, operating from their UK and European Headquarters in Edinburgh. The team is able to draw on over 30 years of experience from the Oil and Gas division in Aberdeen, utilising a number of transferable skills as well as offering concessionary airfares that many sectors of the Energy industry can benefit from.

Working closely with Scottish Enterprise and PMSS, a global consultancy firm who specialise in renewable energy, Colpitts have put together a considered portfolio of travel service offerings that will support companies with a focus on sustainable energy, including Wind, Wave and Tidal, Solar and BioMass, from R & D through to installation.

Angus Young , Group Marketing Manager of PMSS discusses the partnership;

“PMSS are a dynamic and knowledgeable consultancy practice with a clear focus on the Renewable Energy sector and we are working closely with Colpitts World Travel as they form their Renewable Energy travel support team. Together we are looking at what the industry actually wants and will benefit from in terms of On and Offshore logistics for air, rail and ferry travel – domestically, within Europe and internationally, as well as accommodation (including short to mid‐term relocation), event & conference planning and ancillary services.

Colpitts are well placed to look after RE firms, having an Oil and Gas support operation already established in Scotland for some years now and understanding the needs of the offshore energy industry as well as the onshore service industries that complete the support infrastructure. It shows their dedication to sustainable energy and indicates that Colpitts are seeking to create relationships in the early days of the industry and to grow with their client partners.”

The bottom line is all about strategic partnerships that allow Colpitts to add value, reduce costs, streamline & improve efficiencies. Its aim is to remove the administrative headaches from clients thus leaving them free to focus on their core strengths.

One of the key elements of the service will be the ability to offer discounted and flexible Marine and Offshore fares, where applicable, to Renewables companies. Colpitts are one of a select number of travel companies in the UK who specialise in these fares. As the industry matures and more offshore sites are surveyed, having access to reduced air fares will be a key consideration to renewable energy firms and will provide them with a competitive edge.

Ian Scholes , Director of European Operations for Colpitts World Travel sums it up: “We thrive on relationships – and these are strongest and proven when we have a good understanding of our clients’ objectives, challenges and preferred way of operating. We encourage the Renewable Energy pioneers to open up dialogue with Colpitts so that we can begin that process. We recognise that the industry is relatively young but we see this as a fantastic opportunity to gain the confidence of our prospective clients early on in the game. It also allows us to demonstrate our commitment to supporting the sector whilst giving our customers immediate cost savings and logistic benefits.”
