One of Scotland’s engineering giants is celebrating after achieving ‘Investors In People’ status. Renfrewshire based, Steel Engineering achieved the award with support from its partnership with Scottish Enterprise and Sound Advice Scotland’s senior partner, Mary McLuskey. The standard reinforces Steel Engineering’s commitment to its employees and the company’s long-term strategic vision.

Peter Breslin , Managing Director of Steel Engineering said: “We are delighted to achieve the award. We are dedicated to investing in our staff and believe this status will be of great benefit to everyone at Steel Engineering”.

Peter added, “The contribution from Scottish Enterprise has been exceptional. As a company that has been running for over 90 years in a traditional industry, we are always looking for ways to develop the organisation to keep abreast of current business standards. Scottish Enterprise encouraged us to pursue the award and continue to support us at all levels with our expansion plans.”

Steel Engineering is currently working in Partnership with Scottish Enterprise on other projects including opening The Renewable Energy Skills Training Academy (TRESTA), the first of its kind in the UK.

Peter said, “We look forward to developing our relationship with Scottish Enterprise over the coming months and would encourage companies from all sectors to pursue partnership with Scottish Enterprise for their own future development.”

Cameron Ritchie , Steel Engineering’s Scottish Enterprise account managers , commented, “I congratulate Peter and his team on the investment they’ve made in their staff and leadership, which is demonstrated through the IIP status being awarded today. Steel Engineering is an ambitious company with a desire to grow, and I look forward to working with them on their future expansion goals.”
