Energi Coast, North East England’s renewables group, is taking the message that the region has the skills and capabilities to meet the demands of the global offshore wind industry to a major international exhibition in June.
Global Offshore Wind, which is organised by the UK industry trade body, RenewableUK, will attract thousands of visitors from the global renewable energy industry on 13 and 14 June.
In excess of 300 companies and organisations, including Energi Coast, which will be supported by business development organisation NOF Energy, will at the ExCel in London to highlight the depth of skills, products and services available in the sector.
Energi Coast, alongside other companies in the NOF Energy network, will be on stand No. 135.
The aim is to highlight North East England’s expanding offshore renewable supply chain and the portfolio of specialist products and services it offers to the global industry.
Energi Coast’s Steering Group alone has invested around £400m in their offshore renewables activities and have a combined turnover of £200m in offshore wind. The group forecasts the turnover of their operations in this sector will double as the offshore renewables market expands further.
North East England is an excellent position to support upcoming projects, particularly those in the vicinity of the region, Humber Gateway, Westermost Rough and Race Bank.
In addition, the region’s supply chain, through its experience and reputation in other areas of the global energy sectors, such as oil & gas, is perfectly placed to serve European markets as well as those further afield.
Joanne Leng MBE , Deputy Chairman of Energi Coast , said: “Global Offshore Wind is a key date in the industry’s calendar, which attracts the most influential people from the offshore renewables sector. It is the perfect opportunity to further highlight the key attributes of North East England and the strong, integrated supply chain that operates out of the region.”
She added: “Our aim is for the region to become a global hub for the offshore renewables industry. It is a unique region in terms of geography, experience, infrastructure and technical capabilities, which will make it attractive to operators sourcing supply chain services for their projects.”
