Cost calculation will be easier now with an online tool developed by the European Wind Energy Association which instantly calculates electricity costs, allowing users to type in their assumptions on prices.
Furthermore, the calculator includes any fuel and carbon risks for gas, coal, nuclear, onshore and offshore wind. Besides the current prices, it can show future costs from various energy sources, capital costs as well as availability.
According to the Renewable Energy Magazine, the results of using this tool will be a part of Global Wind Day debates scheduled for June 15.
