To further advance Maine’s wind energy supply-chain products and professional service business, the Maine Wind Industry Initiative (MWII) will organize a Maine Wind Industry Pavilion at WINDPOWER on June 3-6 in Atlanta, GA.

MWII has been actively developing and promoting Maine’s wind power capabilities in many sectors, including construction, engineering, composite technologies, steel fabrication, precision manufacturing, environmental services and marine trades.

“Maine continues to demonstrate high-caliber wind energy capabilities at national and international conventions and has become a serious wind power supply chain resource,” explains MWII Director and Industry Coordinator Paul Williamson . “In fact, Maine has been chosen as the location for the AWEA Regional Wind Energy Summit-New England and we are preparing to launch an online wind energy ME supply-chain product and business locator.”

MWII Director Paul Williamson will be at the Maine Wind Industry Pavilion, in booth 1321, to introduce influential wind industry developers, manufacturers and professionals to Maine companies that have wind power expertise, professional services or applicable products.

The following businesses will take part in the WINDPOWER 2012 Maine Wind Industry Pavilion: University of Maine Advanced Structures & Composites Center (AEWC), CIANBRO, Sargent, Maine Port Authority, James W. Sewall Company, Maine Composite Alliance (MCA), Sprague, Kenway, and SGC/Senergy Alternative Energy.

In addition to exhibiting Maine’s wind power strengths to attendees, the Maine Wind Industry Pavilion will host a reception with book signing by Wayne Kilcollins, author of “Maintenance Fundamentals for Wind Technicians, 1st Edition”. This is the first Wind Technician AS college text book focused on wind turbine maintenance for the US. Wayne Kilcollins is a Wind Power Technology Instructor at Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle, ME.

Located at the Georgia World Congress Center, the WINDPOWER 2012 Conference and Exhibition is the largest annual wind-focused exhibition in the world. With 1,000 exhibitors – representing every segment of the global wind industry – WINDPOWER is where thousands of wind industry professionals develop new business relationships and learn from industry leaders.
