3sun Group, a specialist provider of products and services to the energy industry, has announced that its recently launched inspection division, 3sun Inspection Services, has secured over £1 million in contract wins. The Group is exhibiting at Renewable UK’s Global Offshore Wind show 13-14 June at stand 505.

The division, launched late 2011, has secured a number of contracts with clients to provide offshore generator inspections and pre-handover and in-service statutory inspections. It has also landed a contract to carry out hose inspections and crane load tests on board two vessels.

The recently launched division provides lifecycle solutions for customers’ assets from design and engineering through to installation, commissioning and maintenance of lifting and pressure equipment.

3sun Group has also developed innovative inspection software which ensures the safety monitoring of onshore wind turbines is maximised. This selling point has allowed the new inspection division to bid for further contracts.

Graham Hacon , managing director at 3sun Group , said: “The launch of the inspection division was a major part of 3sun Group’s growth strategy, which has also seen the acquisition of Dawson Energy and the opening of new bases. This move has allowed us to increase operations in the oil and gas sector, continuing to offer the highest HSE standards and cost-effective solutions.

“Building strong relationships with our customers remains at the forefront of all that we do. A key part of our ongoing growth strategy is to ensure that we work closely with our clients in the regions they operate in, providing the range of services they require. The level of new business we have already secured as a result of the inspection division launch is highly encouraging and we are very much looking forward to working with new and existing clients.”

3sun Group has enjoyed significant growth over the past 2 years with turnover increasing from £2.4 million in 2010 to £6.5 million in 2011 and it is on target to achieve almost £12 million for 2012.

3sun Group is headquartered in Great Yarmouth, England, and also has bases in Aberdeen and Oban. 3sun also recently opened a new base in Bergen, Norway to support ongoing rapid growth and is currently looking at other UK and overseas locations.

3sun Group employs 175 staff offshore and onshore and is currently working on several projects in the UK and Europe. The Group has extensive overseas experience having worked in Europe, Asia, Africa, USA and New Zealand.
