Forewind has now published its second annual review, covering the progress made with the development of the Dogger Bank Zone in the 12 month period from May 2011 until June 2012.
The publication details the major activities over the period including the key achievement of agreeing grid connections with the National Grid to enable the progression of a total of six offshore wind energy projects – two connecting into Creyke Beck near Hull and four into the Teesside area. The survey and assessment work related to these projects is now well underway and will continue.
Forewind Chairman, Rt Hon John Gummer, Lord Deben says in the report that Forewind has made good progress this year in delivering Britain’s most exciting offshore wind resource.
“We are all very conscious of the importance of this enterprise in supplying Britain’s future energy needs and our programme has demanded a great deal from our staff and our partners. They have delivered to the full,” Lord Deben said.
Forewind General Manager, Lee Clarke said that this document is intended as a snapshot of both the Forewind organisation and our key achievements to date.
“But is also looks forward to our next steps and stresses the need for continued engagement with all our stakeholders, as well as ongoing efforts to meet our remaining milestones,” Dr Clarke added.
