During recent years, Blue Water Shipping has increased its activities within transport and logistics to the wind industry. With a view to continue the growth and follow the development in this industry, Blue Water has decided to establish a sales and representative office in Hamburg, Germany.
“Hamburg is becoming the wind capital. An increasing number of producers and suppliers to the wind industry are establishing offices in Hamburg, where more and more decisions will be taken and contracts made – including transport contracts. It is therefore important that Blue Water is present there and ready to service existing as well as new customers in the best way” , say Kurt Skov, Managing Director and founder of Blue Water Shipping.
One of Blue Water’s many activities is to provide global transport and logistics solutions to the wind turbine industry. With the set-up in Hamburg, the company has 55 offices worldwide, including a number of offices specialized in wind turbine transportation. Blue Water’s headquarters is located in Esbjerg – one of the world’s most important ports of departure for wind turbine shipments – where the company is strongly involved in providing services to the wind industry, e.g. storage, handling, loading and discharging of wind turbines to worldwide destinations.
The Hamburg office, which will open in September, will be managed by one of Blue Water’s experienced specialists – Michael Rud. Michael has strong competences and wide experience in wind turbine transport and logistics, which were his main responsibilities while he was working at the head office in Esbjerg and also during his recent stationing in the USA. He has therefore gained a solid and comprehensive knowledge of the wind industry and related industries, and will be able to provide high-quality service and consultancy.
Michael Rud will jointly with Blue Water’s global wind set-up contribute to strengthening and enhancing Blue Water’s position from his future base in Hamburg.
