Compared to its European neighbours, Germany is still the most successful in building onshore wind energy. This is due to the favourable wind energy financing opportunities. The wind project financing is a complex and multifaceted issue withalarge number of project participants. This is why the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) will publish another publication from the series of market overviews on wind energy financing on September 10, 2012.

The publication is characterized by being closely related to practice. Thus, all articles were created by renowned experts from the wind energy industry.

The publication will include a contribution from an experienced wind energy project company that will explain the requirements that must be met for a wind farm project to be successfully completed. Furthermore, some other means of funding wind energy will also be highlighted in the publication.

As the development of offshore wind is essential for energy future, the publication also devotes in detail to the topic of offshore wind energy funding. Compared to onshore wind energy, offshore wind projects require large investments that can be provided only via the interplay between banks, financially strong investors and public funding.

The German Wind Energy Association publishes specialized books on wind energy for over 20 years. Besides the established BWE Market Overview-Yearbook services, technology and markets, the BWE special market overviews focus on current issues in the industry.
