As the UPI reports, Japanese officials have announced that the country’s first floating wind farm is operational from Wednesday. The wind farm is located about a half mile off the coast of Kabashima island, one of the Goto Islands.
Next summer, the 100-kilowatt turbine will be replaced by a larger 2-megawatt generator after collecting performance and maintenance data.
