More than 200 senior level offshore wind industry executives – already comprised of 14 offshore developers and over 50 installation specialists – have begun to engage with one another in preparation for their arrival at Hamburg’s Intercontinental Hotel for the 4th Annual Offshore Wind Construction, Installation and Commissioning Conference (November 20-22, 2012).

Delegates are geared up to gain exclusive insight into how to eliminate their far shore wind construction uncertainty with advanced installation solutions for cost & time efficient deep water project delivery. Topics to be covered include the offshore grid expansion & connections, advanced deep water foundation structures, risk free cable installation methodologies, implementation of a coordinated logistics strategy, contract management, risk reduction & insurance and health & safety requirements.

For many offshore developers, it is the realisation that the installation of offshore wind farms in hostile, far shore, deep water environments can be a costly, technically challenging and potentially hazardous experience for both the company and its workforce that causes most worry.

If costs are to remain within budget then careful planning, pre-construction preparation, supplier and contractor selection is essential. In response to this continent wide industry issue, manufacturers and other installation specialists have started to develop and construct extremely valuable technologies that could help significantly reduce the risk of project delays. The question on the end of everyone’s tongue is what is available, what works, and where to find it.

“Wind Energy Update is proud to be the primary source of exclusive, industry demanded information surrounding offshore wind developments,” says Jon Harman , the Head of Offshore Business from Wind Energy Update . “As an organization, we understand how to drive both a company’s growth and profits, and we will strive to provide the audience with the targeted material and individuals that they need to achieve them.”

E.ON Climate & Renewables, Vattenfall Europe, RWE, BARD, Mainstream Renewable Power, C-Power, Dong Energy, EDF Energy, EDP Renewables, TenneT, and 50 Hertz are just a few of the European wind industry companies who will meet this November in Hamburg to discuss, debate and appraise the latest offshore strategies to ensure timely project delivery.
