TÜV SÜD and PMSS will present their joint portfolio of services at Husum WindEnergy 2012 (Hall 7, Stand 7A02) in the wake of TÜV SÜD’s acquisition of the UK wind-power specialist. Major benefits from the acquisition have been the significant reinforcement of TÜV SÜD’s presence on the UK market and further improvement of its access to the US market.
TÜV SÜD’s global network provides a comprehensive array of services for the manufacturers, constructors, operators and investors of wind turbines and wind farms – from site selection to certification of onshore or offshore wind farms and from choosing suppliers to obtaining type certification for new turbines.
To date, the international testing and certification service provider has focused its operations on Germany, the European continent and Asia.
“Our acquisition of PMSS has now enabled us to carve out a leading role in the key UK market,” says Dr. Boris Gehring , Head of the Division Industry Service at TÜV SÜD . “In addition, we have further improved our position in the Benelux countries and our access to the promising US market.”

In addition to offering onshore-related services, TÜV SÜD has significantly expanded its offshore services and is currently supporting a number of wind farm projects in the German and Dutch North Sea. The acquisition of PMSS now enables the company to expand its activities on the UK market and its extremely ambitious offshore plans.
