Brunsbüttel Ports will offer solutions for the supply chain as well as experience and expertise in large-component handling at Husum WindEnergy 2012, the leading wind energy trade fair. On stand 4E15 the port group will present their range of services specially designed for the wind energy industry together with the SCHRAMM group.

As a part of SCHRAMM group, Brunsbüttel Ports is the operator and owner of the Elbe port, the port Ostermoor and oil harbour.

In particular, the Elbe port offers ideal conditions for the handling and storage of wind turbine components. It is also distinguished by its tri-modal transportation terminal on the lower Elbe and with available industrial area. Since2009, the Elbe port is a contact point for various services in the wind energy industry; from loading, storage up to upgrading of a jack-up platform.

Jointly with Ahlmann Zerssen, Brunsbüttel Ports also operates the Rendsburg Port which is specially designed for handling heavy cargo. The team from Rendsburg Port will also be at stand 4E15 in Husum.

Frank Schnabel, managing director of Brunsbüttel Ports GmbH, will take part in SPC forum under the title “Maritime Logistics for Wind Energy”.

Decision makers, industry experts and regulatory authorities will examine on September 18 how the wind turbine manufacturers align the logistics and what requirements are imposed on the service provider.

Frank Schnabel will present this in his speech the “Benefits of Port Cooperation in Construction and Servicing of Offshore Wind Farms on the Example of Port Cooperation of the North Sea Offshore Ports SH “.

In the light of the challenges faced by the industry, Frank Schnabel will explain how the potential for all involved can be increased. Namely, the seaports play a crucial role in the supply chain of offshore wind farms.

Through the port cooperation of the North Sea offshore ports the skills of production, logistics and service ports are combined. As a result, wind farm operators benefit from a comprehensive range of installation and supply of wind farms with shorter transportation lines.
