The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced that it is planning to finance Typhoon Offshore’s Gemini offshore wind project (600 MW) with EUR 500 million. Typhoon Offshore has welcomed this announcement by saying that this is an important step towards realization of the two farms, each having 300 MW capacity.
Typhoon Offshore’s Managing Director Michael van der Heijden calls this announcement “a significant contribution, with which we are very happy.”
“Thus, the EIB expresses its confidence in the project. Since January we have been engaged in a discussion with the EIB. EIB has studied the technical and financial merits of Gemini,” said van der Heijden.
There are a few rounds of approval, before the financing decision is really final.
