Though Donald Trump was eager not to invest more in his Aberdeenshire assets while the offshore wind farm is under consideration, he yesterday announced that a luxury hotel next to his golf course is going to be built.

This announcement came right after Mr. Trump had lost support from MoD and other organisations in his battle against the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC).

The Scotsman quotes Donald Trump as saying: “I’m ready to build a hotel. It will be the best hotel in Scotland and one of the best hotels in Europe. Everybody wants to be near our course.”

According to him, the EOWDC turbines are going to ruin the landscape even more because each of them will be built by a different manufacturer. Therefore, the offshore wind turbines will be mismatched and unattractive to the eye.

But, Green MSP for Glasgow, Patrick Harvie , pointed out the benefits of the project: “The Aberdeen Bay project is crucial to Scotland’s low carbon future. The project has the potential to transform our reliance on fossil fuels and generate millions of pounds for our economy.”
