Speaking in Brussels, the Taoiseach Enda Kenny stated that the plans to launch an integrated marine strategy, which will use the Irish vast offshore resources, are progressing well.
Energy Minister Pat Rabbitte highlighted the potential the country has in renewable energy sources at the Energy Ireland Conference in May, when the Renewable Energy Strategy was launched. The actions contained in the Strategy aim to utilization of the huge renewable energy resources as much as possible.
Mr. Kenny has now expressed optimism on the launch of the new marine initiative by the EU President Manuel Barroso before next June, the Highland Radio news portal reports.
