Euskalforging Group has won the contract to supply the 3 connecting flanges for the prototype of NENUPHAR floating foundation, an innovative offshore wind mill.
Nenuphar has developed its own architecture of vertical axis wind turbine as well as a technology of blade manufacturing and has patented a concept of floating wind farm. This innovative solution enables a high availability of the wind farms. Thanks to the vertical axis structure, the cost of the installed MW is competitive with the traditional solutions of offshore bottom-based wind turbines. Based on this unique concept combining existing offshore and wind technologies, Nenuphar develops offers higher profitability wind farms: investment and operation costs are reduced overall by 30% as compared to current solutions, and wind farms are delivered and installed 9 months faster than competitor solutions.
