A vivid political debate on energy policy has marked the race for the Senate between U.S. Senator Scott Brown and his challenger Elizabeth Warren. While Sen. Brown opposes the Cape Wind project, Warren supports it as a part of her focus on development of renewable energy.
The Cape Wind offshore project is a huge sign of progress towards use of renewable power and creation of jobs, according to Elizabeth Warren, but Brown says that its location is what he’s not supportive about.
Brown calls for an energy mix of alternative energy sources and fossil fuels to secure supply and keep costs down, The Transcript news site writes.
Elizabeth Warren, unlike her counterpart, opposes to new nuclear plants in the U.S. due to safety reasons highlighting renewable sources as the right way to go in mitigating climate change.
