China’s State Oceanic Administration released a statement on Wednesday, which unveils plans for development of marine economy projects in Shandong Province.

The province is planning to have 100 marine economy projects that will use marine resources such as wind power, seawater and tides in a sustainable way and 30 pilot zones by the end of 2015, according to the China Daily.

Furthermore, the statement said that the province will financially support R&D projects, strengthen its policy on that matter and educate experts in that field.

Recently, the provincial government in Jinan announced that Shandong plans to develop 12.6GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030 in six areas. A number of developers are already preparing offshore wind projects in the province.
