NOF Energy, the business support organisation for oil, gas, nuclear and offshore renewables, has named DeepOcean as the winner of its new Energy Sector Diversification Award 2012.
This award was introduced for the first time at the 2012 event to highlight the growing diversification of skills, products, services and technologies in the energy sector supply chain.
The announcement was made at NOF Energy’s Annual Dinner and Awards ceremony, which took place at the Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield, County Durham.
Hosted by BBC TV presenter, Wendy Gibson, the sell-out event, which was sponsored by Wilton Group, MTE and Ward Hadaway, showcased some of the energy sectors’ success stories and rewarded a number of outstanding achievements at both company and individual level.
DeepOcean, which is based in Darlington and is an integrated provider of safe, high quality, innovative services and technologies for the subsea industry, won the award for its strong strategic commitment to diversification, exhibiting an in-depth understanding of their target market and could demonstrate strong turnover, profit, employment and investment benefits.
Nominated alongside DeepOcean for the award, which was sponsored by Darchem Engineering, were Long O’Donnell, a company based in Cheshire that provides distinctive commercial, programming, procurement, and inspection services within the energy and infrastructure industries and Sunderland Council Port Business Investment, which provides port and related services, including the provision of development sites for the offshore renewable energy and subsea engineering sectors.
In addition to the awards ceremony, the guests enjoyed a Scottish-themed evening with Andy Cameron, one of Scotland’s most successful and popular comedy stars and Scottish Bagpipe rock music by the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
Guests also had the opportunity of winning a high worth prize of a round of golf at The Duke’s, which is at the Old Course Hotel at St Andrew’s in Fife, courtesy of one of the NOF Energy strategic partners, Wood Group PSN, through a business card prize draw.
