The first foundations at the Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm have been installed.
The main crane of the Victoria Mathias lifts the 550-tonne steel foundations into the water. Whith roughly 40- to 50-metre-long steel piles the foundations are fixed into the seafloor. Then a hydraulic hammer knocks them 40 metres into the earth.
After that the foundations are aligned horizontally before being finally anchored in place with special concrete.
