A2SEA “Sea Installer” (GustoMSC NG-9000C design) has been nominated for the Annual Support Journal Awards.

Renewable energy and windfarm installation costs need to be reduced by 40% in order to be competitive with carbon fuelled energy. Referring to that aim, the NG-9000C contributes significantly with its innovative, well balanced design providing high end performance at moderate price levels in comparison to the NG-9000C competition.

The NG-9000C is most effective for performing all round 3 installation work swiftly & efficiently due to its enormous capabilities in combination with its low CAPEX and low OPEX which allow for lower day rates.

GustoMSC realized this by carefully balancing free deck space and lift capacity which gives it an unrivalled effectiveness and efficiency for complete windfarm development campaigns: foundation, transition piece, and the complete wind turbine set can be installed by this one single unit.

At the heart of the large effective deck area of the NG-9000C is the GustoMSC continuous hydraulic jacking system that has a very small footprint compared to other jacking systems in the market. This hydraulic jacking system has been specifically developed for the large number of jacking operations envisaged in the offshore wind turbine installation market and its design life supersedes the normally used standard rack and pinion systems from the drilling market thus reducing the OPEX.

Moreover this hydraulic system does not require a time consuming and costly fixation system. This environmentally friendly jacking system does not require greasing of surfaces in contact with seawater.

The innovative 900 metric ton GustoMSC around the leg crane is another way of increasing effective usage of deck area by decreasing footprint in combination a very small minimum working radius.

GustoMSC was the first in the world to adopt the crane round the leg solution on the Cowrie One in 1968 and again the first to apply this concept for the windfarm installation market.
