In January, Blue Water Shipping loaded the ro/ro vessel “Seatruck Pace” at the Port of Esbjerg with the first turbines for the Offshore Wind Farm Gwynt Y Mor in Great Britain where a total of 160 turbines are to be installed.
Blue Water has been awarded the transport contract of 130 turbines from Esbjerg to Mostyn in Great Britain, in the landmark project within the wind transport industry as it is the first large scale project where a ro/ro solution is being used to transport the turbines.

This process includes special focus on terminal optimisation and ro/ro solutions, and with the arrival of “Seatruck Pace” in Esbjerg for the first of more than 45 shipments, we have reached an important goal in our efforts to develop optimized logistics solutions for a fast growing industry” , says Business Development Manager Jacob Kjærgaard.
Blue Water has full responsibility for the entire logistic chain from terminal in Esbjerg to DAT Mostyn. This includes chartering of the “Seatruck Pace” and stevedore services in both Esbjerg and Mostyn.
The Gwynt Y Mor Wind Farm is installed off the North Wales coast, and is expected to supply energy for approx. 400.000 households by the end of 2014.
