Germany: Ship Collides with Offshore Wind Farm Foundation

A ship has collided with the offshore wind farm foundation in the German part of the North Sea, reports German news site Jeversches Wochenblatt.

The offshore wind farm Bard 1, currently under construction, is located around 90 kilometres northwest of the isle Borkum. The wind farm will cover an area of 60 square kilometres with 80 turbines.

The incident happened on Saturday night causing the bow fender of the double hull ship to sustain severe damages. The vessel itself suffered only minor damage.

The six crew members were not injured.
