The global wind energy industry will meet once again at the Wind Trade Fair the HANNOVER MESSE 2013 (from April 8 to April 12).
All major manufacturers, suppliers, logistics providers, operators, service providers and measurement services, energy businesses, research institutions and developers from the wind industry will be present. They will show the latest concepts and technologies in all areas of wind energy: new (offshore) foundations, towers, nacelles and blades. They will demonstrate new models with optimized drives – whether with or without gearbox.
Wind energy is the driving force of all renewable energies. In Germany, it provides nearly ten percent of the electricity ‒ and rising. The expansion of the world’s installed capacity is growing steadily. More than 200 gigawatts are now on the network.
Europe, China, India and Brazil continue to set important accents on the wind energy market, but technological power of climate-friendly wind energy has also been recognized in countries such as South Africa, Australia, Canada and Japan. After the re-election of the U.S. President Barack Obama, many market observers saw a more positive market development in the U.S.
A glance at the statistics shows how fast is the development in size: the average size of the systems ten years ago was at 900 kilowatts, whereas it is 1.3 megawatts in Germany now. Likewise, the towers are rising, so the current wind turbines are 110 feet high. Without significant progress in the construction of towers, as well as in the establishment of logistics (cranes, etc.), this development could not been realized. Sites with weaker winds especially benefit from this development.
Important issue on the Wind Fair will be the weight of the components. Several developers and manufacturers are working hard on installations which bring as much power as before, but with less weight. This saves precious resources and eases the entire logistics chain. In the end, it reduces costs and increases the wind energy competitiveness with other energy sources.
In April, The Wind Fair will set important impulses and signals so that the global growth of the wind energy industry can successfully continue.
As maritime and offshore wind industries grow together, the signs of the industrial production in the whole wind industry are under the central theme of this year’s HANNOVER MESSE: “Integrated Industry”.
The world’s most important technology event will be aligned at Hanover from 8th to 12th of April 2013. The HANNOVER MESSE 2013 unites eleven trade fairs under one: Industrial Automation, Motion, Drive & Automation, Energy, Wind, MobiliTec Digital Factory ComVac, Industrial Supply, Surface Technology, IndustrialGreenTec and Research & Technology. The central themes of the HANNOVER MESSE 2013 are industrial automation and IT, energy and environmental technologies, power transmission and control technology, industrial supply, production technologies and services as well as research and development. Russia is the Partner Country at the HANNOVER MESSE 2013.
