Plans for the electrical infrastructure which will transport electricity from the Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm to the national grid will be on display this week.
Six days of public exhibitions on plans for RWE npower renewables’ Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm – which will be located approximately 20 miles off the Lincolnshire coast, will take place at various venues in the Boston and East Lindsey District Council areas.
The exhibition venues include Swineshead Village Hall (5th), Bicker Fen Village Hall (6th), Anderby Village Hall (7th), Stickney Community Hall (9th) and The Royal Hotel in Skegness (10th and 11th).
Each event will provide local residents with the opportunity to review the options RWE npower renewables’ have identified, the preliminary findings from environmental and engineering surveys undertaken by the company, and view images of what the infrastructure could look like.
Members of the Triton Knoll project team will also be on hand to answer questions about the project and provide information about the economic benefits and employment opportunities that could arise if the project was to go ahead.
Jacob Hain, Project Manager for the Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm says the company is eager to get into dialogue with the local community: “We have been making good progress with the proposal for the electrical infrastructure to transport electricity from the Triton Knoll to the national grid and are now undertaking a comprehensive programme of consultation with local communities.”
“The aim of holding six exhibitions in five different locations is to provide as many people as possible with the opportunity to meet the team behind the project and help them understand what we are proposing and the benefits it can provide to the economy, the environment and local communities.”

Public consultation on the project formally started on the 19th February 2013 and will run until the 5 April 2013. All formal responses to the consultation need to be submitted to review RWE npower renewables’ between these dates.
RWE npower renewables is encouraging people to take part in their consultation. Questionnaires can be downloaded from the website or picked up at an exhibition.
