Forewind General Manager Lee Clarke was one of a number of key industry speakers presenting at this year’s SNS2013 conference (South North Sea) organised annually by the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR).

More than 500 delegates attended this year’s event in Norwich which is one of the main calendar highlights for the offshore energy industry in the East of England. It was the biggest conference and exhibition EEEGR has delivered, opening on Tuesday (March 5) with a “Platform for Innovation” theme, sponsored by the Department for Energy & Climate Change, and continuing the next day with the “Sea of Opportunity” theme.

Dr Clarke’s presentation focussed on Forewind’s work to date to progress the Dogger Bank offshore wind development, including the project to install the first innovative suction bucket foundations for the zone’s two meteorological masts.

“The SNS2013 conference was an excellent opportunity for many companies working in the offshore supply chain to meet and exchange ideas,” he said. “The scale and significance of the offshore energy sector means that it will continue to be an important driver for economic activity along the East Coast.”
