Plans to install an array of four SeaGen tidal energy devices to generate clean, predictable energy from the tidal currents of Kyle Rhea (Isle of Skye, Scotland) will be on display at exhibitions next week. Members of the project team will also be present to answer questions about the proposed array.

The two days of exhibitions have been arranged following the submission of an application to Marine Scotland, along with an Environmental Impact Assessment on the possible impacts of the project.

Joseph Kidd, the project manager for the Kyle Rhea scheme said: “We have consulted local interests as part of our preparatory work but we hope that members of the local communities on both sides of Kyle Rhea will be able to attend the exhibition. We want to explain the merits of the project as well as endeavour to allay any concerns that people might have.”

Exhibitions will be held as follows:

– Tuesday 19 th March 2013 (3.30pm – 8.00pm) at the Broadford Hotel, Broadford

– Wednesday 20 th March 2013 (3.30pm – 8.00pm) at Glenelg Community Village Hall
