Anholt Offshore Wind Farm has generated so much traffic and growth that DONG Energy has been awarded a ’Baltic Trendsetter Club’ certificate, an award granted annually by the Baltic Transport Journal.

The award goes to Anholt Offshore Wind Farm as the infrastructure project in the Baltic region that has had the greatest positive impact on transport and logistics. In the official nomination, the journal’s editor-in-chief, Lena Lorenc , says:

“I’m pleased to announce that the Baltic Transport Journal will be awarding DONG Energy the ‘Baltic Trendsetter Club’ certificate, which is awarded annually for exceptional market courage, tenacity and creativity.”

Over 90 ships in use

Flemming Thomsen, who accepted the award on DONG Energy’s behalf , says:

“Naturally, we didn’t go into this project with the aim of winning prizes, but we’re very pleased to be recognised for the work we’ve done.”

DONG Energy deployed over 90 ships during the development and erection of Anholt Offshore Wind Farm.

“We’re in the process of constructing one of the largest infrastructure projects in Denmark, and that, quite naturally, generates a good deal of activity, both locally and in the region as a whole. For instance, over 2,700 people, from our suppliers or DONG Energy itself, have already worked out at the wind farm during the erection period. Of course, we’re proud that we were able to handle this and, therefore, I’m very pleased that this award gives us all a pat on the back,” says Flemming Thomsen .
