Members of the public are now invited to register with The Planning Inspectorate and make a representation about the application for the Rampion off shore wind farm proposal.
The application for the proposed off shore wind farm, with a generating capacity of up to 700MW together with off shore and on shore electrical infrastructure including a cable route from the coast to a new substation near the existing Bolney Substation in Mid Sussex, was submitted on 1 March 2013 and accepted for examination on 25 March 2013.
The public and those interested in the proposal can register with The Planning Inspectorate between 3 April 2013 and 11 May 2013.

Sir Michael Pitt, Chief Executive of The Planning Inspectorate said: “This is an opportunity for people to play a part in the planning process and influence the outcome. We encourage people to get involved by registering as an interested party. By doing so, people will be able to participate fully in the examination of this proposal”.
Those who register will be entitled to provide evidence in writing to support their representation, to attend the Preliminary Meeting, to request an open floor hearing and to speak at other hearings where appropriate.
Sir Michael added. “In making a recommendation to the Secretary of State, The Planning Inspectorate will weigh all the evidence, including the views of the public. If you register to make a representation about the proposal, you can be sure that your views will be part of the evidence the Planning Inspectorate considers.”
