BMT Defence Services sponsors IET Wave and Tidal Conference 2013 which aims to explore the crucial challenges facing the marine power industry and debate mitigation strategies and solutions to the issues.
“The UK is already a world leader in wave and tidal power and we need to really capitalise on this to ensure energy from marine reaches its full potential in our future energy mix,” said Energy and Climate Change Minister Greg Barker.
The Conference 2013 takes place in Glasgow, Scotland, the hub of the marine renewables industry.
The UK is rich in wave and tidal resource and a majority of the world’s marine energy device developers are either based in the UK or conducting tests in UK waters. The 2013 conference aims to explore the crucial challenges facing the marine power industry and debate mitigation strategies and solutions to the issues. It also highlights the opportunities and potential of engaging in the wave and tidal energy sectors as it moves towards commercialisation.
