Following its recent acquisition of Tidal Generation Limited from Rolls-Royce, Alstom’s 1MW tidal turbine generated power for the first time at the European Marine Energy Centre’s (EMEC) tidal test site in Orkney, Scotland, in March. It is the second Alstom tidal turbine generating power to the grid. This milestone positions Alstom at the forefront of the tidal technology developers.
