Dublin and Wicklow residents can express their opinion on the proposed Dublin Array offshore wind farm by 28 th June, The Irish Times writes.
Dublin Array is being developed on the Kish and Bray Banks in the Irish Sea, 10 km off the coast of Dublin and Wicklow by an Irish company Saorgus Energy Ltd.
The company has submitted applications to the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government for two Foreshore Leases, one for the Kish Bank and the other for the Bray Bank. The applications included an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
The Foreshore Leases, if granted, would allow Saorgus Energy Ltd. to construct and operate a wind farm within the lease area. The decision whether to grant the leases will be taken by the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government.
In making that decision, he will review the applications and will also review the submissions that will be received from the public and interested parties during the consultation process.
The public are invited to make a submission on the project to the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government or to give feedback to the developer .
The deadline for submissions is 5pm on the 28th June 2013.
