Pontis recently attended an open day at Narec. The National Renewable Energy Centre is an open‑access UK test and research facility in Blyth, Northumberland, England.
Pontis’ team had a tour of the several marine and wind facilities including a 100m blade testing facility and a 15 MW! turbine nacelle test bed. The event was well attended by representatives from academia, research institutions, Government and industry from across the UK and Europe who all participated in useful work groups and discussions aimed at advancing the scale-up, development and deployment of offshore renewable energy technologies.
The company appreciates Narec’s invitation. It was good to see the impressive facilities, meet the Narec research and development teams, and overall a useful event for the industry as a whole.
