The UK Government’s published draft on renewable energy strike prices has been welcomed by business leaders in the Humber’s renewable energy sector.

“Today’s surprise announcement from Danny Alexander regarding renewable energy strike prices has been well received by companies in our region. We are obviously hoping that this will encourage Siemens to make their decision in Hull,” said Mark O’Reilly, director, Team Humber Marine Alliance.
“This is the first of three key announcements we were expecting in July. Secondly, there is the launch of the Government’s Offshore Wind Industrial Strategy mentioned recently at the Offshore Wind 2013 Conference in Manchester by Michael Fallon. Last, and not least, we are awaiting confirmation of the delayed planning decision for the Able Marine Energy Park, due July 24.
“Let’s hope that this long awaited announcement on strike prices will stimulate investors and mobilise the Humber and UK supply chain to take full advantage of all potential opportunities.”
