Wave energy developer Carnegie Wave Energy Limited announced that it has placed an order for the piping requirements for the Perth Wave Energy Project.

An order has been placed for the Perth Wave Energy Project pipeline system requirements with FlexSteel Pipeline Technologies, Inc. (FlexSteel), an experienced piping supplier for oil, gas and water applications in the energy industry. FlexSteel was carefully selected after a competitive bidding process that compared cost, quality, delivery, and health and safety. FlexSteel has over 20 years of experience manufacturing steel reinforced pipe for demanding offshore environments.

The award of this contract marks the 7th key component commitment for the Perth Wave Energy Project following the award of contracts for the CETO Pumps, the CETO Energy Relief System, Hydraulic Accumulators, Control & Isolation Valves, the CETO Unit Buoyant Actuators, and the CETO Unit Attachment & Foundation Connector.

Carnegie’s Chief Operating Officer, Greg Allen said “The pipework is a critical Project work package required for the safe and reliable delivery of the pressurised fluid ashore for power and water production. It is another good step forward for the Project and we are on track to place the remaining 3 orders for key project elements in the next 30 days.”
