Leading energy supplier SSE announced the appointment of Jenny Ashmore to the new position of Chief Marketing Officer. Reporting to Managing Director, Retail, Will Morris, Jenny takes up the post on 5 August 2013 and will have responsibility for all SSE’s marketing activities.
Jenny’s career in marketing spans 20 years, with early roles at British Gas and Shell before a brand management career with senior leadership roles in Procter & Gamble, Mars Inc and Yell. Most recently, Jenny has been consulting in marketing and sales strategy and capability across multiple sectors. She said:
“I am looking forward to this opportunity to work with SSE at this stage of its growth within the UK & Ireland energy sector. In addition to getting close to customer needs and customer service across the diverse product base, 2013-2014 are exciting years for the company with the sponsorship of The SSE Hydro and Commonwealth Games 2014.”
